Use Your HSA to Make Attending the Nevus Outreach Conference & Reunion More Affordable

"Did you know? Your HSA/FSA could help you attend the conference. Amplify Nevus Outreach. Learn more at nevus.org/blog. Orange, blue text."

For many families affected by Congenital Melanocytic Nevus (CMN) or Neurocutaneous Melanocytosis (NCM), attending the Nevus Outreach Conference Reunion is a life-changing experience. It’s not just a gathering, it’s a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face with medical specialists, connect with others who truly understand your journey, and gain valuable insights into managing these complex conditions.

But we also know that travel and registration costs can add up. That’s why it’s worth exploring whether your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) can help offset the expense.

Because the conference provides direct medical and psychosocial benefits, including opportunities to meet with dermatologists, neurologists, oncologists, psychologists, and other experts, many participants have successfully used their HSA or FSA funds toward the cost of attendance.

Letter template titled "CUSTOMIZE YOUR LETTER" with circular color patterns. Includes placeholder text for personal and contact details.
Here’s how to get started:
  1. Check with your HSA or FSA administrator to confirm eligibility for conference-related expenses.

  2. Provide supporting documentation, such as a letter of medical relevance (we’ve prepared a template!) or a conference agenda highlighting medical programming.

  3. Keep your receipts and proof of payment for your records.

The Nevus Outreach Conference isn’t just a trip, it’s part of your family’s care plan. By using your HSA or FSA, you may be able to make this transformative experience more accessible.

Attending the Nevus Outreach Conference & Reunion sounds like an incredible opportunity for families navigating CMN or NCM. Beyond the medical insights, connecting with others who truly understand your journey can be life-changing. Experiences like this highlight the importance of holistic care, and having access to spiritual support during such events can help families feel grounded, encouraged, and emotionally strengthened throughout the process.

Wheelie Life focuses on flow rather than speed. Players maintain a wheelie while terrain disrupts balance quietly. The bike responds sharply to changes. Gentle control extends distance. Each attempt sharpens awareness.

That's Not My Neighbor story about CMN made me slow down and think more deeply. The way you talked about your family, especially your mother and sisters, was so genuine and relatable. I liked how you viewed CMN as a part of who you are today. Thank you for sharing so candidly.
