Congenital Melanocytic Nevi, or CMN, are rare birthmarks that are present at birth. They can range from very small to covering large areas of the body and are caused by changes that occur very early during fetal development.

For some individuals, CMN is more than a birthmark.

​

Some people may also develop Neurocutaneous Melanocytosis, or NCM, a rare condition where pigment-producing cells are found within the brain or spinal cord. NCM can lead to serious neurological complications and requires specialized medical care.

Many families also face additional rare conditions related to CMN that affect their health, daily lives, and long-term care.
