Nevus Quilt

History of the Quilt

In June of 1998, twenty-four families from around the world each contributed one quilt square to help construct the first section of the Nevus Quilt. The Quilt was assembled by volunteers from the Ottumwa Quilt Guild.

Since its unveiling in August of 1998, the Nevus Quilt has been displayed at:

  • Yale-New Haven Childrens Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut
  • Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota
  • Crumlins Sick Childrens Hospital in Dublin, Ireland

Although the Quilt currently resides in the Nevus Outreach office, it will continue to travel around the world to various medical facilities. A plaque next to the Quilt helps educate the public.
