May 29, 2019- Bartlesville, OK- Nevus Outreach, Inc, the US based nonprofit dedicated to bringing awareness, providing support, and finding cures for people affected by congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) and related disorders is pleased to announce that Lauren Isbell will be taking the helm as the new CEO, effective June 1, 2019.

Isbell brings over a decade of stakeholder engagement experience to her new role, working previously for Arkansas Early Learning as Community Partnerships Manager. She became involved with Nevus Outreach in 2017 after her youngest daughter was born with the condition. After attending the 2018 conference, Isbell began to volunteer as a fundraising committee member. In her new role, she will lead the charge in assuring the accomplishment of Nevus Outreach’s mission and vision while overseeing day-to-day operations of the organization.

“The board is very pleased that Lauren has accepted the position of CEO,” says Paul Coleman, chair of the selection committee. “She has already contributed fresh ideas and enthusiastic energy for our organization as a volunteer. We look forward to a smooth transition as Lauren and Kathy Fox, CEO for the past two years, work together in the coming year. There are several exciting projects in the works, so Lauren will hit the ground running, but we are confident she is up to the task.”

“I am honored to have the opportunity to lead Nevus Outreach. The organization is poised to really develop its vision and build on the tremendous momentum of the past twenty-two years. I look forward to making a positive difference for even more people living with congenital melanocytic nevi and related disorders. I cannot think of another cause I’d rather champion than the one I see every day in the eyes of my little girl.” Isbell states in response.

Isbell holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Arkansas State University and earlier this year completed an executive education course on nonprofit management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.

Kathy Fox will remain on staff until July 2020 and serve as a consultant, coach and mentor to Isbell and will continue to oversee the 2020 Nevus Outreach Conference to be held July 8-10 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
