Nevus Outreach Blog Writer Volunteer
Position Summary:
The Blog Writer Volunteer will play a crucial role in helping to maintain and enhance the Nevus Outreach blog. This role involves a variety of tasks to ensure the blogs are informative, user-friendly, and accurately reflect the organization's mission and activities.
Responsibilities:
Content Updates:
Research and write engaging and informative blog posts on topics related to nevus, melanoma, skin health, and the mission of Nevus Outreach.
Develop compelling blog post ideas and story angles.
Conduct interviews with experts (doctors, researchers, patients) and incorporate their insights into blog posts.
Create high-quality content that is accurate, informative, and engaging for the target audience.
Content Editing & Proofreading:
Edit and proofread all blog posts for clarity, grammar, spelling, and style.
Collaboration:
Actively participate in the Website Working Group meetings on the Second Wednesday of the Month at 9:00 A.M. central time.
Predominate collaboration will happen asynchronously via our project management platform
Collaborate with other communications volunteers and staff to ensure consistency in website messaging and branding.
Qualifications:
Strong writing and editing skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for Nevus Outreach's mission.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail.
Commitment to regular volunteer hours.
Access to a computer and reliable internet connection.
Time Commitment:
Flexible, with an estimated 4-6 hours per Month.
