Welcome, Courtney!
Nevus Outreach is proud to welcome Courtney J. Schoessow to our staff. Courtney will serve as Director of Public Health and Governmental Relations and is an award winning public health specialist for her work with minority and underserved populations. Her eleven years working in public health have been dedicated to research, community-based education and organizational development.
She received a Master’s degree from the University of Hawaii in Public Health, with a specialization in Community Health Development and Education and a sub-specialization in International Health. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas Woman’s University. Her professional experience before Nevus Outreach, Inc. includes working for the National Cancer Institute.
Courtney is married to the Reverend Dan Schoessow and has 4 year old twins Caleb and Abigail. Abby was born with a large scalp nevus (95% removed) and also has NCM.
Courtney expressed that “Working with Nevus Outreach, Inc. is the most exciting opportunity in my life! We have an opportunity to change how the world diagnoses, treats, and researches large congenital nevi and its associated conditions. Not only do we have an opportunity to educate healthcare professionals but we get to help people affected with this condition live better lives to the fullest every day. Everything that has happened in my life has prepared me to help Nevus Outreach.”
