Oklahoma Freewheel Fundraiser

We have some great news for everybody! Here is an easy opportunity to help keep Nevus Outreach moving forward on its ambitious goal of improving the lives of people everywhere affected by large congenital melanocytic nevi. It’s an opportunity to triple your donation of support.

Who: Nevus Outreach CEO Mark Beckwith and Taylor Scott
What : Will ride their bicycles across the great state of Oklahoma
Where: From the Texas border to the Missouri border
When: June 9 - 15
Why: to raise money for Nevus Outreach

How: For the 35th year, up to 1000 bike riders will ride across Oklahoma in the Oklahoma Freewheel (over 500 miles in only 7 days). Taylor and Mark have both wanted to do this for a long, long time. This year, when our biggest funder told us they couldn’t fund any requests for 2013, which would represent a 42% loss in revenue for Nevus Outreach, Taylor and Mark decided to find a way to go the extra mile. Leveraging a substantial donation from another friend of Nevus Outreach, and the power of corporate matching, we are in a position to offer the following: anyone who pledges per mile or donates to The Oklahoma Freewheel grassroots fundraiser (up to a total of $13,000 for all donors) will get their donation matched two to one – so for each dollar donated, the matching donor will donate one dollar, and their employer will match their dollar, for a total of two additional dollars for each dollar given by anyone else.

If you do the math, this could raise $39,000 for Nevus Outreach. Of course, it won’t raise anything if nobody accepts the challenge and makes a pledge. So now is your chance to triple your support of Nevus Outreach. Between now and the end of the bike ride (June 15), go to the Grassroots Fundraiser page and make your pledge. Then, if Taylor and Mark actually make it to the finish line, your donation will be tripled as soon as you donate it.
