Gatherings Sponsored by Nevus Outreach

One of the best ways that Nevus Outreach can offer support to people with nevi is to connect them with people who know first-hand what they are going through. Our conferences are a great place to meet other people with nevi, but they only happen every other year.

Since the fall of 2006, nevus families and other supporters have been organizing regional gatherings throughout the country. These events are an excellent way for people to network between conferences, and for people who cannot attend conferences to meet others with a nevus.

What do you do at a Nevus Gathering?

We eat, we talk, we play. We share. The important thing is just being with others who know what you’re going through and can share your experiences. This can pretty much take place anywhere.

We’ve had Nevus Gatherings at the zoo, at water parks, at a beach house, in restaurants, at hotels, and certainly many are just big meals together in peoples’ homes.

How can we have one near me?

Anyone can put one of these on at any time. The Nevus Outreach office can help in several ways. We can:

• Tell you how many people live how far away from you.
• Help you create your event if you want.
• Manage the invitations and the RSVPs.
• Pay for some of the expenses, depending on the event.

Six Nevus Gatherings Held

During non-conference years (2011, 2013) it has becoming a tradition to have nevus gatherings in various parts of the country. These mostly social get-togethers give families a chance to share stories, play, talk about the latest developments and build camaraderie around our cause. (more)
