Judith O’Haver serves as a pediatric nurse practitioner at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in pediatric dermatology where she is also the research coordinator for the department. She received her PhD in Nursing from the University of Arizona in 2007, and is retired from the Air Force Reserves after 20 years of service.
Her current research focuses on interventions with children who have been diagnosed with a chronic illness and the design and implementation of theory based interventions to improve healthy lifestyle behaviors and physical health of children and adolescents. She has been an integral part of multidisciplinary research teams that have tested lifestyle interventions in adolescents and young adults in a variety of school based settings and is currently an investigator on a NIH/NINR funded project: “COPE Healthy Lifestyles for Teens: A School-Based RCT.” She is also co-principal investigator on local research grants focusing on pediatric dermatological conditions.
