Nevus Outreach holds an international conference every two years. Our conference is designed for the whole family, and provide a chance to meet others with nevi, as well as listen to psychologists and medical professionals share their insight. Hundreds of people from all over the USA and a number from other countries have attended our past conferences in Orlando (1998), Denver (2000), and Salt Lake City (2002).
Adults with nevi and older children with nevi are encouraged to attend. Many new parents, siblings and extended family members of those with nevi also come to our conference. Our conference offers a wide range of activities to suit many interests. We strive to make our conference as affordable as possible. Registration for a family of four (two adults and two children), which includes four nights accommodations, all meals, and admission to all conference sessions, is under $600.
Child care is available at no additional cost. Lots of children, both with and without nevi, come because of the family nature of the conferences. Parents are free to bring their children to some or all of the presentations if they wish, but childcare is an option. There will be dedicated volunteers with childcare experience ready to involve your children in age-specific activities. This year, we will have some special additions: a field trip to Columbus' renowned museum of Science and Industry (COSI), a soccer workshop led by a retired professional soccer player (now a nevus dad!), a visit from the Fire Department (with demonstration!) and we're working on a visiting clown ... what fun!
