Adding A Photo to our Banner

All the people in the banner above have a congenital melanocytic nevus. The purpose of the photos is not to show their nevus, but to show how happy people with a nevus can be. If you are an adult with a congenital melanocytic nevus, or a parent of a minor child with a congenital melanocytic nevus, and you would like to have a photo-with-name posted here in rotation with all the others, please email a photo (as an attachment) to and we'll get it up there just as quickly as we can, usually in less than a week.

If you would like to update an existing photo to a more recent one, just send it in (same email address).

Photo Guidelines

We don't need a super-high-resolution photo. If you crop out everything except the hair, head and shoulders of the subject in the photo (without cropping off any of those elements), a JPG file can be as small as 50 Kb (about 100x150 pixels) and it will work great, though we'll take a bigger images if you have it. Make sure the background is not the same color as the hair, so that we know where the hair stops and the background (which we have to take out) begins.

We can accept JPGs, BMPs TIFs, etc. If you have any questions about your picture file whatsoever, or if you can't crop it yourself, send it in and we will either make it work or tell you we can't.

Be sure to include the name and correct spelling!

Permission Release

You understand that by submitting a photo-with-name to the email address listed above, you are giving your permission to Nevus Outreach, Inc. to post the photo-with-name on the top of the home page at www.nevus.org.
